Cook time: 20 minutes

Serves 3

Ingredients

  • 225g cream cheese (whipped)
  • 2 tbsp runny honey
  • 60g strawberries (finely chopped)
  • 6 slices of Hovis® Farmhouse Batch
  • 250ml whole milk
  • 4 medium Happy Eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Zest of ½ an orange

Tip

Stale bread? Perfect! As this can hold up well when dipped in as it soaks in the mixture without falling apart. It gives you that perfect contrast of a crisp golden outside and creamy, yummy, flavourful centre.

Method

1

Mix the whipped cream cheese with honey, strawberries, and orange zest. In a shallow dish, whisk together milk, your Happy Eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

2

Spread the cream cheese mixture over 3 slices of Hovis Farmhouse Batch, then top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.

3

Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook each sandwich for 3 - 4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Serve warm with extra strawberries, honey, and a dusting of icing sugar if you like.
