Lightly toast the slices of Hovis Farmhouse Batch bread until warm and golden. In a saucepan, combine the pumpkin purée, brown sugar, salt, and all the ground spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg). Stir well to blend.
Add the water and squeeze in the lemon juice. Stir until fully combined.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Once bubbling, reduce the heat, cover partially, and let it simmer. Stir occasionally. Continue simmering until the pumpkin butter thickens into a smooth, silky spread. This should take around 20–25 minutes.
Spread the spiced pumpkin butter generously over your toasted Hovis Farmhouse Batch.
