Leftover Bread Churros

Turn yesterday’s bread into golden, crispy churros dusted with cinnamon sugar and served warm with chocolate sauce. A sweet, clever twist that brings joy in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices of Hovis® Signature White
  • 1 Egg
  • 100ml Milk
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2–3 Tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 Tsp ground cinnamon
  • Butter or oil for frying

Method

Cut the Hovis® Signature White slices into chunky fingers. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla. Lightly dip each bread stick into the mixture. Careful to not let them go soggy.

Heat a little butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the soaked bread sticks on each side until golden and crisp, about 1 to 2 minutes per side.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll the warm bread churros in the mixture to coat. Serve straight away with your favourite dip.
